How is this for a healthy hearing recipe? According to three studies eating healthy, taking vitamins and drinking wine may be just what the doctor ordered.
A report in Science Direct says Vitamins A, C, E plus magnesium are important in the fight against hearing loss: "Free radical formation in the cochlea plays a key role in the development of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL)." But the report goes on to say that antioxidant agents in vitamins A, C, and E work with magnesium to prevent noise-induced trauma.
Meanwhile, MensHealth.com reported on a new study in "Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS)" that it was discovered that Resveratrol (found in red wine) and Quercetin (found in apples) can protect hearing. MensHealth.com wrote, "Resveratrol may inhibit the inflammation that leads to hearing loss and other diseases." The article also praised fish and fortified cereals.
