Here we are again for this month's "Hear what you've been missing" feature post!
Music is one of life's greatest gifts and I hope that this track brings back some great memories as it has certainly stood the test of time and is a classic in every sense.
This month's feature song is "Hound Dog" by Elvis Presley. Here are some quick facts:
Originally recorded by Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton in 1952.
Re-recorded in 1956 by Elvis Presley.
Elvis first performed "Hound Dog" to a national TV audience of 40,000,000 people on the Milton Berle Show.
This now infamous performance by "Elvis the Pelvis" stirred up heavy controversy as critics accused him of morale indecency and an influence of juvenile delinquency.
- Hound Dog is his best selling single and spent record 11 weeks at #1. It stayed #1 until it was knocked out by "Love me Tender", also recorded by Elvis.
