In a great follow up story to one of our blog posts from way back in June 2012, Phonak and Marvel Comics have partnered up for a great cause to reduce the stigma of hearing aids in kids by producing an educational poster geared towards the positive benefits of hearing aid technology.
Phonak was initially inspired by the story of 5 year old Anthony Smith who was honoured by Marvel last year with the creation of the super hero "Blue Ear", whose hearing aids give him the super ability to hear others in need of help.
The poster features the very popular super hero Iron Man and is currently being distributed to pediatric hearing practices throughout the country. Iron man even made a special appearance at the Center for Hearing and Communication in New York to present the poster to Anthony and his family.
"Anthony's story reminded us that everyone, despite of or even because of their challenges, can be an inspiration to others," said Marvel Custom Solutions Editor Bill Rosemann. "It was our honor to work with writer Christos Gage and artist Paco Medina to create this exciting and educational poster that we hope will help spread the word that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and that we all have the capability to unleash the hero within."
