It’s spring and the birds are here with their songs.
An excellent website called Exploratorium will help you identify different bird songs, and is perfect for anyone who wants to learn more about our winged friends. The website teaches people to identify birds’ songs, calls and alarms.
“Our ancestors, no matter what race if you track far enough back, were all expert listeners. They all depended on listening for their survival. It’s my hope that in the future these skills and these arts will not be lost,” says wildlife tracker Doniga Markegard on this video.
“The language of nature is like learning is like learning any language. The best way to learn any language is to immerse into that language, immerse your senses into that language.”
According to Statistics Canada via The Hearing Foundation of Canada, more than one million adults across the country reported having a hearing-related disability.
