Our Favorite Sounds: Birds and Their Songs

It’s spring and the birds are here with their songs.

An excellent website called Exploratorium will help you identify different bird songs, and is perfect Bird Songs and Hearingfor anyone who wants to learn more about our winged friends. The website teaches people to identify birds’ songs, calls and alarms.

“Our ancestors, no matter what race if you track far enough back, were all expert listeners. They all depended on listening for their survival. It’s my hope that in the future these skills and these arts will not be lost,” says wildlife tracker Doniga Markegard on this video.

“The language of nature is like learning is like learning any language. The best way to learn any language is to immerse into that language, immerse your senses into that language.”

According to Statistics Canada via The Hearing Foundation of Canada, more than one million adults across the country reported having a hearing-related disability. We doesn’t want anyone to miss a second of the different sounds with which nature graces our planet. That is one reason why we offer free hearing tests at our clinics. We want to ensure you and your loved ones stay connected to the sounds you love.
