One or Two Hearing Aids?

Hearing with two ears is called “binaural” hearing; our bodies are designed to hear sound from two balanced ears. Just as if we had only one ear, hearing with just one hearing aid disrupts this balance.

Wearing two hearing aids will help:

  • Understanding of speech and conversation in noisy situations
  • Better locate the source of sounds (this is called “localization”)
  • Allows you to reduce the volume on both by about 10 decibels (easier on the hearing aids and your ears)
  • It takes less effort to listen
  • More natural balance of sound
